Taiwan Girl’s Day (October 11)
Originating from the United Nations’ International Day of the Girl Child established in 2011, Taiwan Girl’s Day was officially designated in 2013 to promote girls’ education, health, safety, and gender equality. The government launched the Action Plan for Promoting Girls’ Rights, addressing issues such as health, education, media representation, and breaking gender stereotypes. Civil organizations like the Garden of Hope Foundation also actively advocate for girls’ rights, raising awareness of inequality faced during their growth. Each year, forums, film screenings, and public events are held across Taiwan to encourage girls to pursue their dreams and speak out with confidence.

This year’s event, held in response to Taiwan Girl’s Day, takes the film and television industry as its theme, aligning with the 60th anniversary of the Golden Bell Awards. It invites the public to explore diverse professional roles both on and off stage, highlighting the real stories and achievements of women in the industry. Through the main visual and interactive experiences, the event promotes understanding of gender diversity and equality while strengthening public awareness. It also integrates discussions on women’s health and body autonomy under long working hours and high-pressure environments, encouraging empathy and active participation.

The visual centers on the theme “On and Off Stage, No Limits to Roles.” A lavender-to-deep-purple spectrum forms the base, infused with high-saturation, laser-foil neutrals that create a subtle yet refined sheen. Scattered light bands and particles resemble ribbons and sequins shimmering in air—symbolizing women in the film industry who shine both in the spotlight and behind the scenes, all equally deserving of applause.
A yellow-to-blue gradient ellipse shapes the spotlight, while translucent orbs diffuse into a soft stage glow, intertwining with the typography to symbolize light flowing freely between frontstage and backstage. This reflects the event’s focus on gender equality and diverse representation, extending the stage metaphor found throughout the interactive exhibition.
The background integrates delicate film grain, pixelated flares, and faint layers of text—“TAIWAN / GIRL’S DAY / 臺灣”—creating cinematic depth and atmosphere. A film-reel axis at the bottom guides the viewer’s eye into the narrative, echoing the curatorial link to visual storytelling.
The Chinese typography is reconstructed from Song typeface, balancing strength and softness—sharp angles like a camera’s focus, rounded strokes like light beneath the lens. The extended stroke of “幕” honors the word 巾幗 (women of strength), while the elongated tail of “後” stretches like a beam of light connecting stage and backstage, completing the visual rhythm.
Through intertwined light, color, and form, the composition harmonizes elegance with empowerment. The purple tones and holographic edges shift subtly with perspective, symbolizing how every woman radiates her own brilliance. This poster transforms concept into visual poetry—from Spotlight to Backstage, every role shines without boundaries, illuminating a brighter chapter for Taiwan Girl’s Day.
The design extends the event’s main theme, “On and Off Stage, No Limits to Roles,” drawing inspiration from the prestigious Golden Bell Awards in Asia’s television industry. The layout references the iconic award announcement card, where the winner’s name and work are displayed in large type to symbolize the moment of recognition and honor. Clear hierarchy and ample white space enhance readability, while signature and stamp zones at the bottom reinforce the sense of certification and legitimacy.
The upper section features an example from the 54th Golden Bell Awards – Best Actress Chung Hsin-Ling, presenting her winning quote and work. This allows participants to learn about the achievements and spirit of past female winners during the interactive experience. By simulating the award presentation process, the public can personally engage in the symbolic act of acknowledgment and celebration.
Three checkpoint sticker areas at the bottom represent the multi-stage judging process. Participants collect stamps by completing each task, mirroring the experience of presenting an award. This interactive design creates a ceremonial atmosphere that deepens public empathy for women’s perseverance and challenges in the film and television industry. The overall color palette continues the lavender-to-deep-purple tone of the main visual, expressing a refined balance of prestige, warmth, and feminine resilience.

The sticker design extends the theme “On and Off Stage, No Limits to Roles,” beginning with a female character figure that symbolizes freedom of identity and self-expression. Each accessory represents a different role in the film and television industry—from cameras and clapperboards to director megaphones and trophies—celebrating the many professionals who shine both in front of and behind the scenes.
The design adopts a lavender and deep blue palette with a soft, luminous texture inspired by stage lighting, continuing the event’s visual tone. Each hairstyle, outfit, and tool icon reflects a unique profession and personality, encouraging participants to imagine:
“Which role would I choose to play—on stage or behind the scenes?”
“Which role would I choose to play—on stage or behind the scenes?”
Participants can mix and match the stickers to create their own character, combining styles and professions as a form of creative expression. This interactive collectible serves as both a memorable keepsake and a symbolic activity that reinforces the event’s message of diversity, freedom, and equality—reminding everyone that every role matters, and every dream deserves the spotlight.
